What happens if you release a Legendary Pokemon like Giratina on Pokemon Platinum?

Don't get me wrong, I don't want to release any legendary. But I've been thinking this ever since I started re-playing pokemon Gold, Emerald, Diamond and finished Platinum. What happens if you catch a legendary like Giratina, then later on released it away? Does he ever go back into the Distortion World? So if you could try to catch him again..? Just wondering.

Best Answer:

No. Once you've released ANY Pokémon, legendary or not, it is NEVER again obtainable in the game, in the wild, unless a cheating device such as Action Replay or CodeBreaker is used.

No, if you decide to release a Pokemon it is gone forever. Even if it is legendary, no matter what version you are playing.

No, you cannot retrieve it, because once you release it, it is not your pokemon anymore. The only way you could catch it back is using ar or hacks, and it would not be the "same one.
