Hi there, I have a Acer Aspire 5100, When I purchased it, it came preinstalled with Windows Vista along with a whole load of Acer software. I decided to reformat the drive and install Windows XP. Before I reformatted and reinstalled the OS, the only way to restoring to factory condition was with some software thats only capable with Windows Vista. There is a hidden drive which I cannot access that contains all the recovery files for Windows Vista. I want to recover my Windows Vista, or atleast get access to this hidden drive? Additional details: This Acer Laptop came with NO recovery disks, windows vista disks etc
first the acer comes usually without recovery discs .... now mostly you can't recover any thing now becuse you deleted the related files in the c drive when you formatted that OS but any way the way to restore the OS in the normal way is for acer (shift +f11) during the start up of the machine (under dos) .... if not word and I think it will not work you have to go and install a new version of windows vista or take it and go to the service center of Acer to reinstall the windows vista for you it is going to cost you around 100$ of you have the OS you can install it and get the driver from the website www.acer.com\support
