Best Answer:

Dude, the EeePc, has, of course, made sacrafices for portability. It has comparably average ram, an average processor, and utterly deplorable disk space. But it does have its advantages. Its sturdy with a flash storage, and its actually quite speed and reliable, thanks to integration betweeen hardware, and its OS, Linux Well, im not a genius at instlling programs on Linux, but im sure there would be instructions. Look it up on the web And no, stay away from Xp, your Formerly Fast and Reliable laptop will turn slow and sluggish due to lesser friendship between hardware and software, if that makes sense. Its possible though, but keep the EeePc Linux versiion dude. With bundled apps and everything, its' got all you will need. There are thousands of Linux programs on the net.Whats better, alot are free. I think the EeePC runs on a customised version of Linux Xandros, which is derived from the Debian version. U might need to download programs compatible with such a running system.
