Asus eee pc (subnotebook)?

Darkraven - 2007-11-11 22:30:40 - Laptops Notebooks

Will the Asus eee pc be able to play my anime in formats Divx/xvid, mkv, mp4-h.264, ogm? i.e. the Mplayer for linux... Also is it any good for browsing? Lastly, how is typing on it! thanks

Best Answer:

can't tell you about ogm but divx workss fine, even at higher resolutions. mplayer is a very solid player and the speakers are actually better than I thought they would be. For web browsing, great. Much better than my Nokia 770 internet tablet. Java, flash, web 2.0 all worj flawlessly. Also works with streaming online vids like youtube and even windows streaming video (yes, .wmv works on this machine). Typing is not good. The keys are meant for small fingers as it is a small keyboard. Useable but better to use usb keyboard for serious document typing. Had mine about a week now and love it...except for typing documents :)

My eee is on its way, when I find out I'll let you know! OMG, the thing is in backorder and now I have to wait 15 to 20 days! =(
