Can I get a Schengen visa in the UK while I hold a visitor Visa to UK on Indian passport.?

Current status : Valid Indian Passport, UK visitor visa, staying in UK for a couple of months. Desired: Schengen Visa in UK to visit Europe. Question: Is it necessary to apply for schengen visa in home country (India) or I can get it in UK itself, provided I have complete documentation. (employer reference, bank statements etc.)

i always thought you don't need to actually apply for the schengen visa. once u are in the EU you can travel around without any problems. the EU only has "outside borders" but no longer borders between countries that are part of the EU. I mean there are borders, but think of having a visa to th EU and not just the UK. the agreement that eu-countries made is, when one country accepts someone as a visitor (etc.), all other eu-countries accept that person as visitor.

well it depands on your visa status if you are living in the uk on short turm visa then schengn state might refuse your application. chances are 50 -50. better is if you applly in your home country. good luck
